When she made romantic drama Kiss Me in 2011, Alexandra Therese Keining joined a mere handful of contemporary Swedish directors creating films about lesbian and bisexual women. Her latest feature adapts an award-winning young adult novel to tell a magic-fuelled tale of three teenagers, Kim, Momo and Bella, who discover a plant that allows them to turn into boys at will. With their world turned upside-down, the trio see everything differently, from the sexual harassment they experience at school to the romantic bond between Kim and Momo.
DIVA: Girls Lost is a body-swap film, which is a convention audiences are more familiar with from comedies, like Freaky Friday.
