► LIZ NICHOLAS EMAIL It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of the wonderful, talented Lynda Baron. In the 1980s my brother wrote a Doctor Who fanzine called Mondas. He contacted Lynda to ask for an interview when she was appearing in a show [Key for Two] in Cardiff. To his great delight he received a call from Enlightenment’s Captain Wrack herself and the interview was arranged. He got two for the price of one when he was introduced to Michael Robbins [a guest star in The Visitation, 1982], who was appearing in the same play. Lynda was kind and generous with her time and comments about her Doctor Who experience and the interview did appear in his fanzine. But to my brother’s shame, he was unaware at the time that Lynda had also lent her vocal talents to The Gunfighters [1966] with William Hartnell – one of my all-time favourites. She would also later appear in the Matt Smith story Closing Time [2011]. She was a class act who will be very much missed – thanks for the memories and the phone call, Captain Wrack.
