Sheridan Smith in Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything.

David Tennant plays the title role in ITVX’s Litvinenko, available from 15 December. Mark Bonnar, Radoslaw Kaim, Sam Marks, Simon Paisley Day and Daniel Ryan are also among the cast. Chris May is one of the producers of the series, while Ed Moore is the director of photography.

Co-produced by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner, the third and final series of Bad Wolf’s His Dark Materials began airing on 5 December, and is currently on BBC iPlayer. The returning cast includes Jade Anouka, David Langham, Lewin Lloyd, Sophie Okonedo and David Suchet, with Chipo Chung, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith and Gerard Horan joining. Vicki Delow is one of the producers and Joel Collins is the production designer. Charles Martin directs two of the episodes.

Chris Chibnall has partnered with ITV to launch the Next Generation Showrunner Programme, a new initiative to train and support up-and-coming showrunners.

Jo Martin will guest star in this year’s Death in Paradise Christmas special on BBC1. Festive comedy Your Christmas or Mine? is now streaming on Amazon Prime. The cast includes David Bradley, Daniel Mays and Harriet Walter.
