Ncuti Gatwa is the winner of this year’s Radio Times TV 100 2022, a list of television’s most influential people. Gatwa said he is “very pleased”, adding: “TV is on fire at the moment, and so to top the list as well feels extra cool.”
At the Olivier Awards on 2 April, Arthur Darvill won Best Actor in a Musical for his work in Oklahoma!, which also won Best Musical Revival. For her performance in Tammy Faye, Katie Brayben won Best Actress in a Musical, and Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, in which Bonnie Langford appeared, won Best Concert Event. Sir Derek Jacobi received the Lifetime Achievement award.
On 24 April, at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards, Sherwood won Best Drama Series. The cast was led by David Morrissey and Robert Glenister, while Sam Care was director of photography for part of the series. Bad Wolf’s I Hate Suzie Too, starring Billie Piper, won Best Drama Mini Series.

David Bradley was present at the Academy Awards on 12 March. Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, in which Bradley voices Geppetto, won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
At the Royal Television Society Awards, held on 28 March, Dodger, starring Christopher Eccleston, won the award for Children’s Programme. Sherwood won Best Drama Series, while Life and Death in the Warehouse won the award for Single Drama. Tracie Simpson produced the series, which starred Craig Parkinson, while the costumes were designed by Lindsay Bonaccorsi. Sarah Lancashire received this year’s Outstanding Achievement Award.
