Grave Matters
Clara embraces the Cyber-converted Danny Pink (Samuel Anderson).
A
storm cloud full of Cyber-pollen breaks above Brompton Cemetery, soaking the graves – including (at 07m 54s, right) that of General Sir John Lysaght Pennefather (1798-1872), his wife Margaret (1803-80) and his granddaughter Harriet Stokes Worrell (known as ‘Harrie’, 1843-82). Fighting in the Crimea, Pennefather distinguished himself at the Battle of Inkerman on 5 November 1854, commanding the 3,000 men of the 2nd Infantry Division opposite 35,000 Russians, who lost 12,000 of their number in heavy fog. Arthur Terrall, from 1967’s The Evil of the Daleks, was supposedly wounded in the same battle, during which Maxtible housemaid Mollie’s father was killed; were they under Pennefather’s command?
