Therewasn’t much the writer and script editor Terrance Dicks didn’t know about how to make Doctor Who. He was often asked to share that wisdom in magazine interviews and convention appearances. One of the soundbites he offered in response was the assertion that “Who is the Doctor’s show.” He was quite right, of course, although Dicks also recognised the importance of providing the series’ leading character with resourceful allies and formidable opponents. This was the man who co-created the Master, after all.
