EVEN THE DIRECTORS of Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse aren’t exactly sure how many Spider-People can be seen in the film’s big escape sequence. The buzzy set-piece in the hit animated sequel sees Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) go on the run at Spider Society HQ after being told he must make a brutal sacrifice, and pursued by pretty much every webslinger in the business. So what’s the ballpark figure? “If we take the sequence as a whole, there are over 600 different spiders,” Justin K. Thompson, one of the film’s three directors, tells Empire. “It’s somewhere in the neighbourhood of 630-ish.”
