1970 – ’87: SADDLING UP
Living in the Southwestern United States during the ’70s, screenwriter John Fusco developed an interest in notorious gunslinger William Bonney, aka Billy The Kid. Researching for five months in Santa Fe, Fusco zeroed in on the Kid’s participation in the Lincoln County War, where he joined a deputised posse known as the Regulators. Director Christopher Cain committed to making the film just 16 pages into reading Fusco’s screenplay, the script trimming the Regulators from 11 to a more movie-friendly six. Now they just needed to find their sharpshooters…
