Lochaber MSP Kate Forbes says her commitment to serving the people of her constituency will remain as strong as ever, following her appointment to a junior ministerial post in the Scottish Government.
Ms Forbes, MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, was one of nine new appointments announced last week as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon unveiled a major reshuffle.
Ms Forbes is to become minister for Public Finance and Digital Economy, working with the Finance Secretary on managing the Scottish Government’s budget and on tax policy. Aged just 28, it is believed Ms Forbes is the first person born in the 1990s to be appointed to a ministerial post in Scotland, England or Wales.
