The mid-Cornwall resignalling work (reported last month) has been completed, changing the face of the railway at Par, Truro and Lostwithiel as the traditional GWR semaphore signals were removed and replaced by colour lights. This view (left) shows Par’s former PR2 signal being lowered into the station yard on March 7, while right is the modern face of Par station on March 16, as No. 150233 arrives from Newquay past the out of use signalbox, with the signals now controlled from a panel at Exeter. It is hoped that some of the old equipment will find a new home at a heritage site.
