PHIL Robinson stepped down as chairman at the Moseley Railway Trust’s (MRT) annual general meeting in February.
He first became involved with MRT in 1996 when it operated a railway at a school site at Cheadle, Stockport, becoming acting chairman in 1999 and chairman from 2000.
During his 25 years at the helm MRT has progressed from having to close the original railway and place the collection in storage through to developing the steadily expanding Apedale Valley Light Railway, home to an extensive collection of narrow gauge locomotives and equipment.
