A Lancet study has identified a potential way of determining how stress is linked to heart attack risk. The study of 300 people found that those who had the highest str ess levels had the highest levels of amygdala activity – the area of the brain that processes emotions such as fear – and also inflammation in their blood and arteries, and researchers believe these findings are linked.
