Spread the Word has announced the twelve longlisted unpublished writers in the running for its Life Writing Prize.
Now in its fourth year, the prize, which is free to enter, aims to find and nurture the best new life writing from emerging writers. It is organised in association with Goldsmiths Writers’ Centre and funded by Joanna Munro.
From almost 900 entrants, the twelve writers are: Joanna Brown: Birds can be heard singing through open windows; Stephen Crawley: Down Ashton; Elena Croitoru: On Sigma Algebras; Maxine Davies: Dad’s Home; Ruby Eastwood: The Spoon Garden; Lorelei Goulding: Birdie; Sue Hann: Palingenesis; Josh Holton: Death and Birdwatching; Laurane Marchive: For the Flesh is Sour; Carla Montemayor: North of the River; SR Shah: Mink Lashes; Nicky Watkinson: This is a story about friendship.
