It is always apleasure toopen C&SC andreadabout acar Ihave neither heard of nor seen before. The feature about the Huayra Pronello Ford in the November issuewas onesuch example, but from the momentIlaid eyes on the photographofthe rearofthe car Ihad feelings of déjà vu.
The Kamm-style tail with its rounded fastback reminded me of the Bristol Fighter (above). Both have large American engines, gullwing doors, wraparound ʼscreens and limited side-window access. Ihave failed to find any connection between the Bristolʼs designer, Max Boxstrom, and Argentine racing, or anyinfluence that the Alfa Romeo TZ2may have had on Heriberto Pronello when he designed the Huayra.
