The Albanian-American popster behind No.1 single Sweet But Psycho and its No.2 parent album, Heaven & Hell, Ava Max doesn’t mess about on her follow-up. There’s neither a ballad nor guest in sight, as she delivers an excellent set of empowerment pop. There are big dumb choruses, no-frills breakbeats and more hooks than Tyson Fury. She’ll probably be convinced that murky electronica is the way forward by her fourth album but, for now, celebrate a massive pop star relishing massive pop music.
