INSANITY
Ever since Ed Sheeran, the mainstream has been dominated by singer-songwriters who make as little effort with their music as trying to look glamorous. Former promising footballer Tom Grennan is thankfully an exception. Propelled by a distinctive gravelly voice, Grennan’s debut album Lighting Matches had an air of mischief and, gasp, fun.
Indeed, the partying became too much and the follow-up documents the end of Grennan’s long-term relationship: Evering Road is named after the London street where the couple lived. However, rather than wallow his way back on to Radio 1’s playlist, Grennan admits his faults, apologises and sets out how he’s determined not to be so much of a chump in future.
