Diesel&EcoCar Magazine July 2023 Back Issue

It’s a big bumper issue of Diesel&EcoCar with the EcoCar Electrified Top 50 Awards 2022 dominating the issue as we name the best new cars in the world of Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, Hydrogen and Electric. We count down from 50, right down to the top spot, explaining why we rate each of the cars so highly. If your next car will feature some form of electrification, then you really can’t miss this issue.

The front cover of Diesel&EcoCar shows off the latest Range Rover Sport, now in new third-generation guise. As well as mild hybrid petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid drivetrains, there will be a pure electric version in the future, too. We’ve also got the first photographs of the facelifted BMW 3 Series, capture the monstrous BMW XM as it completes final testing, along with the upcoming BMW iX1. We have photos of the Land Rover Defender 130, the Honda ZR-V and sketches of the new electric city cars from Cupra, Skoda and Volkswagen. Completing the news pages this month, we’ve got the first details of Renault’s exciting Scenic Hydrogen concept car and images of the upcoming SsangYong Torres, which will be exclusively sold in electric guise in Europe.

We’ve been driving the hot new Alfa Romeo Tonale, testing the elegant Range Rover, as well as putting the Kia Sportage 1.6 CRDi through its paces. We’ve also driven the Fiat 500X Hybrid and Jeep Renegade e-Hybrid, as well as the Land Rover Defender P400e plug-in hybrid. Completing the driving impressions this month are the Ford Kuga and Kia Sportage, in this month’s twin test. Our comprehensive Buying and Selling section features the Vauxhall Astra 1.5 Turbo D as this month’s used car buyer’s guide.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Reviewed 21 August 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
