It was like a corridor –now it’s a cosy hub
After years of using her living room for storage, Tracey Thompson decided it was time she made her lounge less of a shoe stash and more of a snug retreat

Tracey describes herself as being a ‘magnolia, white and stone-coloured kinda girl’ before deciding to paint her lounge in two eye-catching shades. ‘I’m much braver than I thought’, she smiles

My room...
A bit about me
I’m Tracey Thompson and I live in a two-bedroom Victorian terrace in Leeds with my four-year-old son, Max. I’ve lived here for 10 years.
My problem living room
It felt stark, colourless and uninviting – it looked like a bachelor pad! There was a time when I was a no-mess, no-fuss kind of person – so black, white, glass and chrome were the order of the day. I soon realised the room needed colour, cushions, artwork and family photos. I wanted to redefine it as the hub of my home.
