ADDRESSING the Scottish Independence Convention in Glasgow on 14 January Stewart Kirkpatrick, head of Scotland at 38 Degrees and former head of digital for Yes Scotland, reflecting on the next independence referendum, said: “The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago, and the second best time is today.” Without any formal announcement of a referendum or a date to work towards, it is clear that IndyRef2 has already begun. Westminster’s Brexit and the response that it will inevitably produce in Scotland are going to have far-reaching implications for the future of the United Kingdom. iScot caught up with Leanne Wood, leader of Plaid Cymru – the Party of Wales, to ask for her thoughts on another Scottish referendum and the ramifications it would have for her party and for Wales.
