DORSET

Durdle Door is one of the most famed and photographed sights on the Dorset coastline. 200 feet high and 10,000 years old, this rock arch has been carved from the limestone cliffs by the sea. From one angle it looks like a horse drinking; from another, a dragon rearing up. It also looks like a cool thing to kayak or swim through - but currents can be strong, so take extra care, don’t swim alone, and watch the tide times carefully. Lulworth Cove itself is equally appealing: a near-perfect horseshoe, scattered with white pebbles and rock pools, ideal for exploring at low tide.
