CHRIS GARNHAM
4AD has confirmed reissues of two more Cocteau Twins albums this month, meaning the band’s whole studio catalogue is now back in print. Debut album Garlands (1982) and Victorialand (1986) will be re-pressed on 140g vinyl and released on 20 March, with both records remastered from the original analogue tapes and packaged with artwork faithful to their original 23 Envelopes designs.
Garlands, the only album the band made with original bassist Will Heggie, before our very own Simon Raymonde joined, get its first pressing in over a decade. The largely acoustic, ambient fourth album, Victorialand, which features DifJuz’s Richie Thomas on tabla and saxophone, has never been reissued since its original release.
