Long Live Vinyl Magazine May-18 Back Issue

Good times, bad times… Issue 14 of Long Live Vinyl celebrates half a century of the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band – Led Zeppelin. Our in-depth feature looks back on the highs and lows of 50 years of Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones, while we run the rule over the first ever vinyl release of Zep's seminal live album, How The West Was Won, and round up their Essential records.

It's not all about Zep, though. Elsewhere, we speak to Wye Oak, Manic Street Preachers and PP Arnold about their new albums, and John Parish and Green Gartside help us reflect on the tragically short life of folk legend Nick Drake – plus there's a comprehensive look at his classic album, Pink Moon.

We also turn the spotlight on Atlantic Records, the king of record labels and home to a startling roster of talent over the years – from John Coltrane and Aretha Franklin via Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills & Nash and Cream to The War On Drugs, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars. Gareth Murphy's feature is a must-read.

With the countdown to Record Store Day ticking away, Long Live Vinyl gets four shop owners and a label boss round the table to debate the future of the event, and we delve deep into the world of Peruvian vinyl, investigating its role in the birth of punk. In our regular Cover Star feature, we sit down for a chat with Julian House, who's created iconic sleeves for the likes of Primal Scream, Oasis, Stereolab and Broadcast; our label of the month is Alcopop! Records and we visit a record shop that's become a Brixton institution – Supertone.

If all that's not enough, Long Live Vinyl brings you the widest and most comprehensive range of album, boxset, turntable and accessory reviews, plus expert HiFi DIY and buying advice, you'll find anywhere on the newsstand.
