A CHARGE of driving dangerously at excessive speed in a residential courtyard when residents and children were present was found not proven after the trial of a Fort William forestry contractor last week.
Appearing before Sheriff Eilidh MacDonald at Fort William Sheriff Court, Gordon Thomson, of Lochaber Road, denied that on October 8 in Mcandie Court in Fort William, he drove a pick-up truck dangerously at excessive speed in the residential courtyard when residents and children were present; that he drove onto a walkway and patio area and drove at, and close to, [the main prosecution witness], forcing her to take evasive action.
Five witnesses, as well as the accused, gave evidence. They included three members of the same family.
