BROADFORD could get a new short stay public car park as Highland Council attempts to ease parking pressures on the island.
Following a meeting of councillors at the Skye and Raasay committee, a consultation will take place with Broadford residents and businesses on plans for a new off-street car park for parking of up to two hours.
It was also agreed Green and Somerled Square public car parks in Portree will have their short-stay tariffs amended to £1 for up to an hour and £2 for up to two hours. Alternative, free long-stay parking will still be available at the Bayfield car park in Portree.
