Art of Murder is one of those lesser-known point-and-click franchises that’s lost enough momentum over time to eventually become a hidden object game. It’s mostly busywork, diminished by messy puzzles, vague clues, and dialogue that makes most text-tospeech programs sound like Gary Oldman in an Oscar-winning turn. Protagonist Nicole Bonnet isn’t inspiring, either: more like a sentient pantsuit trying to fool people into thinking it’s alive. The lowest point comes when a kidnapped Nicole has to scoot a chair around a noisy room without being heard; a puzzle so atrocious I decide it’s best 64 to leave her there forever.
