Rising to the soft gong of a bell, the scent of sandalwood incense and the gayatri mantra resonating through the ancient walls of Casa Lakshmi, daylight floods in with our own silence as added comfort. I sip tea and smile my hellos before beginning the morning with breath and gentle movement on the outdoor deck. Then, a sharing circle, which eases us into 90 minutes of yoga and meditation – much of it with eyes closed, feeling into our bodies. Heaven. Exploring a di erent chakra each day, with contrasting mantras and postures, roots our practice and helps us shift a lot of ‘stu ’ – aided by supportive therapies, from reiki and craniosacral healing, to kinesiology and marma massage, delivered by experienced holistic practitioners. There are thoughtful, self-supporting daily lessons: from naturopathic cookery to reiki for self-healing. Ibiza Retreats is operated by a circle of committed, connected women who support each other so lovingly, there is never any sense of ‘work’ being done – just ease, fluidity and intuition. They are headed up by the inspiring Larah Davis – a new mother who made her return to the fold the week I was there; beaming, with lessons to share and energy to impart. I love yoga classes with the warm and wise Marrejan Oepkes, and energetic and soulful Carina Bogner, who both make us howl with laughter.
