Following approval by the National Transport Authority, Iarnród Éireann’s new timetable went live on December 10. Additional services introduced include an early morning service from Limerick connecting into the new 0600 Heuston Cork at Limerick Junction. A major obstacle to growing services has been the lack of drivers. In October, IÉ started the recruitment of 100 extra drivers to allow services to expand over the next two years. On October 24, four-car ICR No. 22045 passes Woodfarm Bridge between Dromkeen and Killonan on the last leg of the 0915 Heuston Limerick driver training special.
