Well Being Journal  |  May/June 2019
Health is wholeness. You are whole. This implies all of consciousness as a unified state of being is expressing through to include the physical world. The ego-driven thought is overwhelmed by this; the heart, however, the intuitive, comprehends. The heart attracts, or embraces Oneness, wholeness, well-being. The ego wants itself to be separate from everything and everyone else; it fears losing itself by being in union with everything, then it retreats to thinking it is separate. The ego is challenged with the differences in others, while wholeness consists of diversity. Oneness, interconnection, wholeness, harmony with and understanding of differences are threats to the ego’s need to be superior and separate. The ego-run mind functions well to fulfill individual needs for food, rest, recreation, and social interaction, and, when directed by the heart, the greater consciousness, the ego will act in harmonious reciprocity in relationships. When driven only by the ego-mind without the compassion of the heart, the human tendency is solely on private interests. Private interests proliferate when many focused on separation rather than wholeness band together and build businesses and governments that try to run societies based on their private interests rather than concern for the whole. Blaming is not useful. The larger consciousness of compassion found through heart-centeredness does not fear wholeness but embraces it. The human condition is one with limits to its duration, but a human life need not be filled with competition, sickness, excessive labor, toxic chemicals, exclusivity, or storage sheds full of unneeded things. The ego is complicit to creations such as rule in fear, distortion, and rulership by economic or religious control, but there comes a time of reckoning. Abundance is health, and it’s meant to be shared.
