Reading about the RNA World Uckers Championship in the Nov/Dec edition of the Globe & Laurel reminded me of my sixteen months’ service on HMS Striker as a National Service Marine seventy years ago.
HMS Striker, a LST and part of the Mediterranean Amphibious Warfare Squadron, carried six LCAs and her home port was Grand Harbour, Malta. I was in P4 Mess and a member of the four man crew of a LCA.
