43 Cdo FP Gp RM: Training continues with the Sqns rotating through Ops and FGen and some AT. P Sqn worked alongside the police, at Carr Gate ranges developing Close Quarter Battle (CQB) tactics, as well as completing Ex Southern Explorer an inter-unit cross training, sport, careers briefs and AT exercise. R Sqn’s Boat Tp alongside supporting CASD undertook the formidable Cairngorms 4000s Challenge. 30 Cdo IX Gp RM: Y Sqn deployed a team alongside X Coy, 45 Cdo RM to the USA for Ex GreenDagger, conducting environmental and STA training. The J10 Cell participated in Ex Talisman Sabre in Australia, embedding in the Multinational Information Operations Cell (MIOC), focusing on interoperability between nations. The Combat Camera Team deployed to Asia, North America and Australia, documenting UKCF activity. Y Sqn HQ will support Ex Venturous Warrior in Norway, while elements deploy with the Surveillance and Reconnaissance Sqn on Exercises Black Spec and Black Ridge. A COT will also integrate with host nation forces to conduct cross-training. The J10 Cell is preparing for NATO’s Ex Arctic Tide, ensuring readiness for winter operations. 40 Cdo RM: C Coy played enemy on Ex Wessex Storm, for an Army Battle Group validation exercise on Salisbury Plain Training Area challenging the Army BG as they advanced on several objectives. With A Coy having returned from Ex Catamaran and B Coy preparing for next term’s Ex Arctic Tide, the Officers and Seniors played the inaugural Officers Vs Seniors Bat Match at Wellington Cricket Club. 42 Cdo RM: Op Highmast marked the first operational test of the Maritime Special Operations Team (MSOT) concept, as M Coy’s MSOT 7 deployed with the UK Carrier Strike Group. Embarked on HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Richmond, they supported contingency planning for transits through high-threat waters, rehearsed Joint Personnel Recovery and sharpened boarding skills through Full Mission Profiles with Merlin helicopters, before joining Ex Talisman Sabre in Australia. The Unit prepared the Special Operations Maritime Task Group (SOMTG) for NATO’s 2026 Allied Reaction Force, with Ex Neptune Storm in Cornwall providing its first validation. Conducting opposed boardings, littoral raids, fast-roping, reconnaissance and integrated fires against a near-peer adversary role-played by K Coy. Neptune Storm confirmed the SOMTG’s ability to deliver, with further NATO validation on Ex Hyperion Storm ahead. 45 Cdo RM: X Coy deployed to USMC Pickel Meadows, California for a two-month Mountain Training exercise whilst Y Coy conducted surveillance and reconnaissance training on UK military establishments before fast-roping onto an offshore platform on Ex Merlin Storm, a joint exercise with CHF serving as validation for pilots from 846 NAS. IW Coy deployed as ‘opposition force’ for Greater Manchester Police, as part of their counter-espionage programme Project Servitor, acting as hostile state agents, collecting information on Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) across Manchester.
