We caught up with Peter Andre to talk about his new fitness app, #itsfine, between rehearsals for his role in Grease The Musical – and the singer stresses that: “I’m not just the face or an ambassador, I’m a co-founder. This is long term. We’re not expecting people to change their 20 year-old mindset – it’ll take time.” Here, the 48 year-old father of four chats to HELLO! about keeping in shape, guiltfree eating and why he treats himself daily.
Peter, what was the inspiration behind your #itsfine app?
“Over the years people have said to me: ‘You can’t eat late at night,’ ‘You shouldn’t eat too many carbs,’ or: ‘You shouldn’t have fats.’ I’ve heard it all. But I don’t live like that and I’ve been told it’s not good for you. People think I must watch everything I eat and I don’t.
“Here’s my way of doing it: I don’t eat breakfast – which I never knew was intermittent fasting –I always have a small lunch and a massive dinner. I needed to find a way to explain to people that you know your
body and to balance what you eat. I met [nutritionist] Ben Smith, who’s gone on an incredible weight loss journey where he lost ten stone on a strict diet but then put it back on and more. He came up with an approach which is very similar to what I’ve always done.
