We head into the holidays expecting a certain amount of disruption to our normal routines. For some of us, it’s less sleep and exercise. And probably more sugar and stress, too. But this shift in gear will affect gut health, which in turn can compromise immune function, skin health, hormone regulation and even our mental health.
“You are juggling much more in your day-today and this can be a struggle for your body,” says nutritional therapist Gabriela Peacock, whose clients include Jodie Kidd and Donna Air. “It’s really important to look after yourself during this time so that you don’t feel horrible and sluggish in January.”
Gabriela, author of the Sunday Times bestselling book 2 Weeks to Feeling Great (below, published by Kyle Books, £16; visit gpnutrition. com), suggests putting a plan in place for the festive period.
