Welcome to my home
A bit about me
I’m Victoria Harrison, I’m the editor of Houzz.co.uk and I run the home design and craft blog, Style Made Simple.
Where I live
My home is a 1970s semi-detached two-bedroom bungalow in a pretty, rural village.
What I wanted to change
It was an empty shell so I was excited to bring my own style and design it so the layout worked for me.
How I made it my own
With each room I started off with a simple colour palette of white walls, natural flooring (wool carpet) and white or pale grey furniture, then I added warmth and character with vintage accessories, art and handcrafted pieces.
My favourite part
My home office is my favourite room. it’s a lovely peaceful space that opens out onto the garden.

About Homestyle
Wow, another year has gone by already! There is something about packing away those Christmas decorations (and cleaning all the little corners that have been totally neglected for the past month...) that inspires a few changes on the home front. I always see things in a new light at this time of year and feel renewed energy and resolve to start afresh. If you are looking for ways to give your home a revamp, have a flick through our mini mag on HomeStyle’s best 40 rooms – there’s something for everyone. If you ask your friends, I’ll bet they’ll say that the room in their home that needs most attention is the bathroom. Even trawling through Pinterest and Instagram, it’s almost impossible to find really great inspiration for this much overlooked space, so we decided to challenge our resident stylist, Pippa Jameson, to come up with three different looks that are bang up to date for 2016. Another change here is that this is my last issue of our wonderful magazine! I have enjoyed every second of my time on HomeStyle with the most amazing team of people. I hand you over to them from the March issue. Enjoy!
