Print and pattern bring our home to life
A whizz with a sewing machine, Morgan Coster set about creating a fresh spin on his and partner Christopher’s characterful maisonette

Living room
‘As the room doesn’t get a lot of sunshine during the day, I wanted to keep the décor light and fresh but cosy at the same time, which is where the black feature wall came in. However, when it had been painted, I decided it wasn’t enough and amped up the drama by painting the skirting boards and the window frames a dark grey to continue the theme. We also spray-painted our silver mirror and some trinkets copper to make them stand out even more against the dark wall.’
Welcome to my home
A bit about me
I’m Morgan Coster and I live in Bath with my partner Christopher and our pug, Molly.
Where I live
Our home is a onebedroom maisonette. It was originally a three-storey Victorian house which has been split into three flats.
What I wanted to change
When we moved in, I wanted to change every single room because the whole place was a swamp of magnolia walls and beige carpet.
How I made it my own
Using my sewing skills, I stitched a lot of my own cushions and curtains so that no one else will have the exact same furnishings that I have created for my home.
My favourite part
The living room because it’s given me the opportunity to be playful with colour and ideas.
