Laminate low-down
When practicality is your priority, laminate is a fantastically affordable option. It’s made of synthetic materials and usually employs a click and lock assembly, which makes it really easy to install – including over existing sub floors. A thick, clear ‘wear layer’ provides durability and a wipe-clean surface, but most types are not waterproof and won’t cope well with standing water. Kitchens, yes – bathrooms, no. with standing water. Kitchens, yes bathrooms, no. Wooden flooring is lusted after by many homeowners on the hunt for durability, affordability and style, but throw in technological terms like ‘engineered planks’ and ‘LVT’, and it’s enough to make even the hardiest HomeStyler run a mile.
