Listening to audio at too high a level for a prolonged period of time can damage your hearing. Indeed, the World Health Organisation says long-term exposure to sound at or above 80 decibels (dB) can lead to permanent problems so, to protect you, iOS 13 monitors your headphone volume level, telling you if it’s ‘OK’ - below 80dB - or ‘Loud’ in which case you should take action.
