Whatever medium of music you cherish, the free Discogs app is on hand to help you discover more about your collection. We used some downtime during the COVID-19 lockdown to go through some old vinyl and, curious to find out how much it was worth, turned to Discogs as a trusted source to get answers. After installing the app and registering an account, you can instantly get to work scanning the barcodes on your vinyl sleeves to get instant access to the information that matters, like how much your records are worth. You can then build up your own personal Discogs collection by adding more items, all the while getting a running total by tapping on the ‘My Discogs’ section. We’ll guide you through the process of using the app to add and value your vinyl here, but you can also use the service to buy or sell items, too. It’s generally more expensive than eBay, but at least you’re guaranteed to get the item(s) that you want.
The Discogs app lets you catalogue your precious hoard, and you can also use it to buy or sell vinyl, too
