How to quickly add a range of stylised looks to your edited footage
You’ll find iMovie has all the tools you need to manually adjust (or grade) a clip’s colours and tones. This enables you to add more contrast (and therefore impact) to a clip with flat washed-out tones. You can also use iMovie’s grading tools to turn drab colours into richly saturated ones that flatter your footage. However, manually grading a project’s clips can take time as you need to drag a selection of sliders to experiment with different looks. Fortunately iMovie’s collection of 34 filters allows you to change colours and tones (and therefore the mood of a clip) in a click. We’ll show you how to grade a timeline’s clips manually and then experiment with a range of fast filter effects to give your show a more creative spin.
