Secure your iPhone
You may believe that your iPhone and all of the associated Apple services are secure. You may believe that you own the most secure products on the consumer market and that you are safe from digital danger. Well, you would be both correct and incorrect which is an unusual place to be in, but please let us explain. There is little doubt that the iPhone and its associated services are possibly the most secure on the market, but there is no such thing as completely safe if you connect to the internet through any device. Apple has worked hard on privacy and security over the past decade and even more so with iOS 15, but there are still many things you can and should do to remain as secure as possible. We will highlight some simple changes you can make, some habits you should adopt and a variety of options that can adapt to your needs and make you feel more secure as you go about your day-to-day business. Please remember that no matter how much advice you follow, you still need to be sensible and look after your iPhone and passwords as you would all other aspects of your life. Prioritising security is essential.
Secure your logins
You will almost certainly be aware of Face ID and it is possible that you have considered the passcode to be a security feature of the past. This is true to a point, but the passcode is actually very useful and possibly the most important practical security feature on your iPhone. Both features together make for a formidable and secure brick wall.
Use iCloud+
iCloud+ is a new service from Apple that is designed to make an already highly secure system even safer. If you are on a higher iCloud tariff you can upgrade for free and benefit from these features, which means all you need to do is understand what they are and how to use them. They are so easy to understand.
1 iCloud Private Relay
Private Relay works in a similar way to a VPN and lets you browse without anyone, even Apple, knowing your IP address. It’s a seriously impressive new feature.
2 Hide your email
You can now generate random emails for each service you use and reply to messages using the masked addresses. Anonymity will reduce spam in your inbox.
3 A secure family
If you use Family Sharing, you can enable iCloud+ instantly so that everyone can benefit from the extra security. A secure family makes each individual a little safer.
