Autotune your vocals with Pitch Correction
Discover how to use GarageBand’s built-in plugin for tuning tracks closer to project pitch
Rightly or wrongly, autotune has become a staple effect in modern digital music. Typically, you can recognise it on vocals to get an artificial, heavily processed sound. It can also be used more subtly to just iron out natural deviations from a desired pitch. Singers don’t always hit perfect notes – so autotune can be a neat ‘fix’ here. GarageBand’s Pitch Correction plugin is for this very purpose and simplifies the process for novices. It isn’t the strongest or most versatile solution for advanced results but it is worth investigating. So in this guide we’ll use a raw unprocessed vocal take to illustrate how the Pitch Correction plugin applies.
