Blur your house in Google Maps and Apple Maps
If you don’t want the public to virtually peep at your property, it’s time to hide it from view
Earlier this year, it emerged that Tim Cook’s home has been hidden behind a huge digital wall. If you try and find the Apple CEO’s house on Apple Maps via the Look Around feature today, you’ll see that it’s the only property on the street to be blurred out. The same is also true if you visit it in Google Maps.
The reason for this is simple: Mr Cook was granted a restraining order against a stalker so a veil of privacy was thrown around the property. But the privilege of blurring your home isn’t restricted to Apple’s boss. Anyone can prevent their property from appearing in a map app and here, we show you how it’s done.
