FROM BAD WOLF TO AMY’S CRACK
The new series has not been immune to arc plotting - it has become a staple of modern dramatic television.
While Russell T. Davies introduced loose arc story concepts (Bad Wolf in series one, Torchwood in series two, Harold Saxon in series three) and ran connected two part stories, it wasn’t until the end of 2007’s third series that a trio of connected episodes appeared. That series climaxed with the Master arc that comprised ‘Utopia,’ ‘The Sound of Drums,’ and ‘Last of the Time Lords,’ which saw the return of the Doctor’s arch-enemy the Master in the form of John Simm.
