Dear Allan,
Thank you for including my letter and artwork in issue 89 of Infinity magazine. Much appreciated. I was reading through the Frank Frazetta write up in issue 90 and remembered when I was first introduced to his work. In the late 1980’s to early 1990’s, I used to go to visit my uncle who has now passed away. He showed me his collection of books and memorabilia on various films and I remember seeing some of his collection on Frank Frazetta. I picked up a book or pull-out poster magazine and noticed a sketch that the artist did of Telly Savalas and thinking it was a brilliant drawing.
I was wondering whether any of your readers would recall seeing it and whether it was an actual drawing he did. I’ve tried looking on the internet, but have been unable find it. I’ll try and contact the Frazetta museum website and see if they might be able to help in any way.
I’ve also included with this letter, a sketch that I’ve done of the Telly Savalas drawing and a holding slide from The Gauntlet shown on ITV in 1987. This shows the original poster art that Frank did in 1977 for the film’s poster. Paul Thomson by email
Can’t help you regarding the Frazetta drawing of good old Telly, Paul, but maybe one of our wise readers might be able to help out - over to you, gang!
