For what feels like an eternity the iPad has relied on presenting an interface that looks just like an expanded iPhone screen. To be fair this does not take advantage of the extra screen real estate and has felt like a wasted opportunity, but things have now changed. In iPadOS the main Home screen can be made to look more like a the simplicity and obviousness of the iOS visuals. You get the opportunity to set up widgets to see information at a glance and to organise all of your favourite tools in any way you like. The end result is a near perfect balance between usability and having everything you need from the moment you pick your iPad up.
