This rare Crosse & Blackwell Prattware advertising plaque will probably be with dealer Laurence Cooper at the specialist BBR fair on July 1-2. It promotes Alexis Soyer, the celebrated 19th century French chef who was the chef de cuisine at the Reform Club in Pall Mall, London, and whose ‘Lamb Cutlets Reform’ are still on the club menu. Priced at £6000 and sized 13 x 10in (33 x 25cm), this was originally part of the Mortimer collection of Prattware.
