A MID Argyll youth group attended the Scottish Parliament last week to launch a campaign aimed at promoting the work of the CashBack Youth Work Fund.
CashBack uses the proceeds of crime to invest in a safer, healthier and prosperous future for Scotland’s people. Since 2008, £92 million has been committed, which has delivered more than two million free, positive, healthy opportunities and activities for young people in communities across Scotland and has helped more than 300,000 youngsters.
The youth forum in Lochgilphead gathered to launch My Travels, a postcard campaign run by YouthLink Scotland to showcase the impact of the fund. MSPs, including Argyll and Bute MSP Mike Russell, were asked to walk 500 miles in five minutes through an interactive postcard map of Scotland, as youngsters explained what the CashBack fund has done for them.
