It’s been 3 years since I moved into my midcentury ranch, and I’ve averaged a remodeling project every year since. First was the kitchen, then the front yard landscaping.
And I’m officially 5 months behind schedule on this year’s goal: the master bedroom and master bath expansion. Two good reasons: the world experienced a pandemic which, by the time you’re reading this, I can only pray has begun to subside and the lives and livelihoods of those most impacted have begun to recover too. And speaking of lives, I’m brewing one in my belly at the moment and she’s kind of got me on her timetable instead of mine. Yep, I’ll be bumping up a nursery project in front of that bed/bath remodel instead.
And while it’s easy for anyone to feel behind or overwhelmed about the business of improving our homes, the important thing to remember is that it’s always a work in progress. Whether this issue provides you with insight and ideas for right now, or it’s just fodder for today’s dreams of tomorrow, hunting and gathering for the designs and concepts that are just right for your mod gem is a constant act.
