Autism Parenting  |  Issue 195
Dear Readers,
September is often a slide into a new school year, with many parents wondering and worrying how their “little leaf” will fare on the tree of knowledge. Will they hang on to their branch through all the gusts and downpours or hit the ground after the first chilly breeze? If they are beginning at a new school or continuing at a former one with a new IEP in place, each day might be a challenging blast that shakes their grip.
“Surviving Challenges with Autism” is our theme this month, and while every parent worries about upcoming challenges, autism families know that challenges can seem to swirl around the corner unexpectedly. We hope the articles this month provide you with more knowledge and understanding to help and support your child, teen, or adult. Hopefully, they can have that steady foundation and a firmer hold to hang in there, no matter what they encounter. You’ve got this, caregivers; now “leaf” a little time for yourselves. Happy fall!
