Fiat CEO Olivier François wants his cars anything but 50 shades of grey
If a company made a change to a product that reduced its customer appeal by more than 25%, I think those responsible would have some explaining to do in the boardroom.
More than a quarter of all new car sales are of grey cars, and yet Fiat announced last week that it is going to stop selling its cars in the colour. To which I say: bravo. Up with this sort of thing.
It’s not that I have a problem with grey cars as such; it wasn’t a conscious choice on my part but I even own one. It’s just that they’re so very, very prevalent: include silvers, whites and blacks too and monochrome cars account for anything up to 80% of the new car market.
