In your element
Could discovering your dosha – the body’s predominant Ayurvedic energy – teach you more about yourself?
Humans are amazingly complex. Why do some feel the cold more than their peers? Why do others need routine while some embrace freedom and a lack of planning? And why is it that when some are feeling low, they are drawn to the very things that tend to make them feel worse?
According to Ayurvedic practice, some of the answers lie with your dosha – or your unique mind-body type. Often translated as life knowledge or the science of life, Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems in the world and originates from the Indian subcontinent. Humans are made from these different building blocks, as is everything around us. Some will naturally have more of certain elements than others. For example, those who might have a bit more fire, tend to generally feel warmer, might be quicker to respond and have an inner passion.’
